Daily Reflection

Again, Jesus emphasized the importance of the virtue of prudence, as He told the parable of the worldly prudent steward. He told us that if we are very prudent and know very well what we need to do with our worldly things to take care of our future to be happy and secure, should we not use the same prudence and cleverness for our spiritual life? We have the same concerns and worries of the steward for the future. We put money in a retirement fund, invest money so we don’t have to work hard and we will have an easy retirement. Jesus would say to us, that if we are concerned and know to take care our future, even though it is only temporary, shouldn't we be more concerned and worried more about our eternal life? Jesus gave us direction on this, when He told us to store up treasures for heaven, which no one can steal or that would loose value. If we know how to invest, how to read up, how to follow closely, or who has the best analysis on different companies, on the trend, the good and the bad of the economy, or what companies are doing good or come out with new products, so we can put all our money in to get the most profit. If that is what we do with our worldly investments, should we not use the same tactics and wisdom in our spiritual life which is not so much different? It would be a wonderful way to grow in our spiritual life.

Something that we can do today:
Reflect on what we have for our spiritual life.
